The Monroe Museum is a local history museum at 227 S Broad St in downtown Monroe, in the same building as the Monroe Welcome Center. It opened in 2015 and is run by a volunteer committee of Monroe residents.
Exhibits follow a timeline of the city, starting with the Native Americans who lived in the area, through Monroe’s 1821 charter, and on to the people and events that shaped the town up to the present day.
The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 6 pm. Call 678-635-8997 to confirm hours before a visit.
